When Gifted Kids Don't Have All The Answers
Jim Delisle, Ph. D. and Judy Galbraith, M.A. (ISBN
1575421070)
Gifted children face social and
emotional issues unique to them. Jim Delisle and Judy Galbraith designed
When Gifted Kids Don’t Have All the Answers as a handbook for gifted
educators to help address these issues. The book includes exercises for
introspection, research into giftedness, curriculum ideas, and insights from
gifted educators and gifted kids. This is not, however, a book for the
uninitiated. It goes on the assumption that it’s readers don’t need
“convincing” and that they already have some background in gifted education.
Although as a parent, I was not the
target audience of this book, I still found the information useful and
inspiring. The information was well organized and supported by research. I
found it easy to read. My most memorable impression of the book is how
sensitive and insightful it is. I kept finding myself thinking, “I wish I had a
teacher like that when I was a kid.” - DP
