Activities for Children

These activities are open to EABC and AABC member families only.
Please bring your suggestions for future events.

The Super Saturday Group provides an opportunity for children
of EABC and AABC-affiliate families in Grades 1 to 6 to get together for different
activities. Parents/guardians are encouraged to participate. Older
siblings are welcome, and younger siblings may join in if
accompanied by a parent. The events will be geared to the Super Saturday age
range.

Recent outings have included visits to the Edmonton Art Gallery,
exhibits and laboratories at the Provincial Museum, ACCESS-TV,
the Provincial Legislature, Hole's Greenhouse, the Royal
Astronomical Society's Blackfoot Staging Area and the Winspear
Centre.

The Discovery Group provides an opportunity for children of
EABC and AABC-affiliate families in Grades 5 to 9 to get together to explore different
topics or undertake different activities. Parents are encouraged to
participate. Older siblings are welcome, as are younger siblings if
accompanied by a parent, space permitting. The events will be geared
to the Discovery Group age range.

Recently outings have included visits to the Computer Science Department at the
UofA, the Department of History and Classics, the Mathematics
Department and the Glenrose Hospital.

The
Explorers Group provides an opportunity for children aged 2 to
Kindergarten and parents who are EABC or AABC-affiliate families to get together for
a regular playgroup or appropriate activity. |
